Wine in Clay

Oak-Aged Chacha

Chacha is made from grape must by the most ancient traditional Georgian method, which originated in Kakheti. In winter the grape must is kept in a qvevri - a ceramic amphora buried underground - after which it is distilled in copper vessels. After distillation the chacha is matured for 12 months in oak casks, which gives the drink its deep golden colour and rich aroma. Storage conditions: 5-20°C, relative humidity no greater than 85%. Composition: distillates of wine material from the Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane vine varieties, softened water.
